Elijah Esquivel joined the Christine Duncan Heritage Academy Governing Council in 2018.  He is currently employed as an audit supervisor for Pulakos CPAs, PC.  He is a certified public accountant with over 8 years of financial experience.  He was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico and enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife, Jennifer and daughter, Emilia.

Francisco J. Ronquillo has a dual role an Interim Director of the Community Health Worker Initiatives and a Health Extension Officer under the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Community Health with the Health Sciences Center at the University of New Mexico.  He has worked in the public health sector, for more than 20 years and is dedicated to tackling the social determinants of health and the needs of marginalized populations. He is very involved in many education initiatives, because he firmly believes it is one the of the best public health interventions.  Currently, his health equity efforts are aimed at building capacity between academic health centers and communities.  As a bilingual educator, he applies popular education approaches in his trainings and interventions with Latino, immigrant and border communities on various health and social issues.  He is an advocate and proponent of identifying the strengths and assets within the community to promote social and systemic change that strives for equity. ​

Dr. Luis Quiñonez

Dr. Quiñonez joined Christine Duncan's Heritage Academy on Sept. 18, 2019.  He obtained his bachelors degree at New Mexico State University, his masters of arts in teaching at Western New Mexico University and his doctorate degree at New Mexico State University.  He has a life-long personal and professional interest in dual language and multi-cultural education.  His doctoral dissertation was related to bilingual and multicultural education.  He is a retired educator whose career was dedicated towards the advancement of educational excellence through languages, culture, family involvement as important elements for achievement.  He served as the president for the New Mexico Association for Biligual Education and president for the Mexicano/Chicano Chamber of Commmerce in Silver City.

Mrs. Beth Esquivel

Beth Esquivel joined the governing council in 2018.  She is a retired elementary school teacher who taught with Albuquerque Public Schools from 1984-2016.  She holds a master's degree in Elementary Education from the University of New Mexico.  She has been married to her husband, Ray, for 34 years and together they have 7 children, 2 of which attend Christine Duncan Heritage Academy.  She also has 2 granddaughters.  She is excited to bring her educational background to help the school continue to be the best place for students.
